A beautiful Finnish hand carved folk stool from the late 1800s. The stool retains the original blue colour commonly used in furniture back in the period. The stool seems to have had a mustard color paint on the seat part and still retains small parts of the original paint there.
The design has three carved slots to the back used to easily cary the stool and move around.
According to the person we acquired the stool from, she said it was used in the legendary Lapua ammunition factory in Finland that burnt down in the 1970s and this was saved from the premises. Although we cannot confirm the story, the stool certainly has the character and scars of love to match the story. The patina it holds is breathtaking and would add character to any interior. Although the chair has the beautiful patina and many scars the condition is good as it has not structural issues and is in original condition.
