Two quite rare earthenware sculptural decorative plates in barbotine, dated 1880, handcrafted in Clermont Ferrand, central part of France, by Charles Jaubert decorator, engraved signature at the back and front of each dish, substantially framed by a nice navy blue waved border.
They feature each a lively country scene in relief, one titled “Paysans de Royat”, a couple of peasants coming back from the fields, the other “Bon Vin D’Auvergne”. Good wine from Auvergne, represents folks playing cards under a pergola, both with predominant colors of brown, green, yellow, pink, aquamarine. In excellent condition.
