Vintage Design
Double spirit Retro desk, attributed to the French Designer Gérard Guermonprez (1895-1981). The furniture models of this Tourquennois were distributed mainly in North Africa and in the Paris region – notably in Bobois houses – in the 1960s.
This Vis à Vis Desk offers a Teak Veneer top in perfect condition as well as two pedestals in the same wood. These last ones, placed by definition on both sides of the furniture, are each composed of a 11 cm deep niche, and a drawer assembled in a Dovetail shape. The handles are in Gold and Black Metal, reminiscent of the Industrial style lacquered legs of this Middle Desk. More precisely, it rests on four straight uprights, deliberately placed in pairs asymmetrically: two under the top, two under the pedestals. They are connected to each other by two side bars and an X-shaped spacer. It should be noted that this clever uneven distribution of the legs does not, of course, affect the stability of the whole.
The interior furniture imagined by Guermonprez is resolutely Solid, Simple and Functional. But beyond these attributes, this Double Desk with a light design, will allow you to receive and bring a trendy Vintage touch to your private or professional workspace.
