A very nice Comtoise Morbier tall clock in a floral paint decorated Pine case, France – late 19th century. Rings on the hour and two minutes after the hour and a single strike on the half hour. Movement is keeping excellent time and running very well but could probably use a professional cleaning sometime. The two metal side doors for the movement box are missing. A very nice piece of 19th century French country history.

French 19th Century Tall Case Clock

This French 19th century banjo shaped case clock is an eye catching piece in any space. Topped by an ornately carved cornice above the dial faced door. Supported by an intricate brass repousse frontage, the dial face displays hand painted roman numerals as well as “Chevalley, Mouilleron-en-Pareds” to indicate the maker and origin. Shapley and well ornamented, the frame features a faux bois finish and floral designs throughout. The repousse pendulum is detailed with a pastoral scene and floral elements. Glass is original. Because of how particular longcase clocks are, you will want to have a professional come and make sure it’s level and show you how to properly wind it. Standing right at 8’ tall, it will add great presence to interiors with extra-high ceilings. Make sure to view the detailed images to get a closer look.

A neoclassical style case with pilaster supports and a chapeau de gendarme bonnet, A glazed door over the face with enamel dial and lovely repousse brass surround topped with sea monsters flanking an urn with flowers and a tall palmette. Glazed doors on the bonnet sides and recessed panels on the case above and below. The lower case with a door opening to the works.

Exceptional antique french clock with superb bronze workmanship. Created by hand in the late 19th century, with utmost craftsmanship. The way the bronze figure is made is unreal, if you look at the face, hands, feet, etc you can truly see the in depth detail of the workmanship. Don’t forget this clock is made by solid bronze, to create something of such sort will take months easily. They don’t make quality items like these anymore.

19th Century French Comtoise Grandfather Clock

A 19th century Country French comtoise, or grandfather clock, with pine case and embossed brass pendulum. The case is from Normandy circa 1900-1920 and the movement is from Marseilles circa 1880-1900. The seven day Morbier movement and has been professionally cleaned and is in working order, having an enamel face signed by the clockmaker, Richard Koch & Cie. Three bells, chiming on the hour, two minute after the hour, on the quarters and the half. Pendulum and clock surround have matching embossed, hand painted decoration with floral decoration in pale gold, green and pink. In good condition with minor cracks in the enamel of the face.
