A graceful form and dreamy patina make this vintage wooden vitrine a one-of-a-kind display case. Hand-built in France at the turn of the century, windows on all four sides of the cabinet give a 360 degree view onto the precious objects placed upon the shelves within. The top-rail of the case is crowned by an elegant crest; carved finials, their shape reminiscent of pine-cones, add an ornamental note. The principle decorative element, however, is the weathered finish of the wood. Once white-painted, the surface has now worn to a misty patina which reveals enigmatic glimpses of the dark wood beneath.
