Three doors below the crown are in a beautiful French Provincial style. Two glass doors flank the center burl wood door. The glass doors, on the sides, are decorated with beautiful brass inlay in the shape of floral fern leaves. The center door is a curved piece of burl wood that features ornate giltwood ribbon motif at the top with ormolu swags, draped detailed floral sprays in giltwood roses and floral details below the ribbon motif.
The legs of the cabinet are fluted and detailed with beautiful brass fittings on wood column-like legs. Supported on eight square tapered legs terminating in a gilt sabot.
The exterior on the front includes brass fittings and decorations at the top on each side.
Inside the piece is covered in rich cream silk. It is also fitted with lighting which is hard-wired into the sides. A great way to highlight pieces that could be featured in the cabinet.
This piece has wear to the front at the bottom of the middle door, the burl is showing signs of wear, as well as some losses of wood around the cabinets on the glass doors.
All hardware is original, including the decorative bronze fittings. The piece is very sturdy and heavy. Solid wood sturdy original hardware hand-forged and tells the story of the time period. Historically accurate carvings that vividly demonstrate the excitement of the period.
