English antique pear and apple pottery fruit. The pear was slotted to be a child’s bank, while the two apples were meant for decoration. The red ware pieces were hand-painted in naturalstic colors. Most of these banks were meant for children and were broken to remove the pennies. There is slight flaking to the paint, which is typical of this type of painting on red ware.
