This framed hooked rug or mat was done by the well known George Edouard Tremblay of Quebec Canada in approximately 1940 in his period Folk Art style. The rug or mat is done with wool, presumably on burlap and framed in a rustic styled wooden frame. The rug depicts a winter woodland scene using pastel tones with his signature dark border. The piece is clearly signed with his “GET” initials in the bottom right corner.
The dimensions posted below refer to the framed artwork, and the rug itself measures forteen and a half inches wide and twelve inches in height. Please note we currently have several of his works posted in various sizes and subject matters.
