A secretaire a deux corps with a tall separately made upper cabinet. The top with three curved drawers over double doors with French leather bound book spines, 18th century. Opening to a chinoiserie wall papered interior with one shelf (worn). The sides with tooled leather front box form drawers with flip tops and metal pulls. The desk with a center leather writing surface with upper shelf and a frieze drawer. Lower side doors open to one shelf each. Raised on shaped legs with sabots on the front ones. The wood, believed to be either Chestnut or fine-grained Oak, or a combination of both, is lustrous and has a beautiful time-worn hand.
