Contemporary Design
The design of the cross table has two themes: simplicity and essentiality. The artist realizes that simplifying means reducing costs, decreasing processing, assembly and finishing times. The aesthetic of the table is the direct result of the construction technique used, as the laser cutting and the burnt edges of the multilayer defines the side profiles, evoking an archetypal form. It was built by laser cutting with a single sheet of plywood and is shipped in flat packaging. The table is assembled without glues or screws but with simple joints.
