Unusual Swedish antique chair from Hälsingland made around the late 1700s to the turn of the century 1700 to 1800. The chair is folk art and this type of chair with turned legs and pins have their origin in the early 1700s. The model of chair can even be traced back as far as the 1600s and medieval times.
However the model has lived on the on the more rural parts of the country for a long time after. The chair is painted pine with the original paint. There are traces of decorative paint on the top of the backrest and at the front of the chair. The cushion is later, the padding is all natural materials and has been upholstered with linen fabric. Stable and usable.
