Handcrafted carpets made with a loom using the “pezzotto” technique, circa 1940. These artifacts are products of peasant culture and come from various European locations. Made to protect themselves from the cold with recycled wool and cotton threads inserted on a cotton structure. The decoration that can only be built on horizontal and vertical lines is almost always very elementary, rarely as in our example they reflect a more refined style. This carpet produced in Sweden at the beginning of the 20th century was created to fit into the Swedish furnishings of the 1940s, characterized by a minimalist style.”
